Julio Iglesias with show hosts Ulrika Jonsson and Denise Van Outen
Latin heart-throb Julio Iglesias has a price on his head -
after he was sold for £9,000 at a charity auction in
London on Thursday night.
The crooner was sold off as part of a one-off ITV show,
Men For Sale, in which a celebrity audience bids for a
night out with one of a series of well-known men.
Iglesias delighted the audience with a rendition of his
song To All The Girls I've Loved Before - before his
services were bought by a mystery bidder, who will be
flown to the continent with a friend to see him at a
concert.
A spokeswoman for producers Carlton Television said:
"Julio was mobbed on stage. It was incredible. He
obviously has still got what it takes."
Other males up for sale included singer and actor
Jerome Flynn and former Dallas star Patrick Duffy, who
were both sold for £6,000 each.
Boy band 911 were also on offer, with all proceeds going
to seven cancer charities. The show, hosted by Denise
Van Outen and Ulrika Jonsson, will be broadcast on ITV
in December. |
